Sri Lankan Government initiates Housing Projects though many Government Institutes, and Urban Settlement Development Authority is one of the pioneers. These housing projects specially focusing on the Low, Middle income earning citizens, Government Servants in terms of providing them with affordable quality houses and neighborhoods.

As we commissioned to design the mock-up rooms to attract the potential buyers for these houses,  our prime goal was to enlighten the public, that the beautiful interiors to live in are not expensive, but it comes with correct choices with proper consulting and it could be way economical and reliable as well.

We strived to uplift the potential of the property with design and how could we look at affordable housing to be really pretty and loved to live in. Each unit was done with an average cost of LKR 600K. ($3,000) including all furniture, fixtures and finishes. We believe this could shift the mindset and people will tend to appreciate designs more and be happy despite of their income level.

It was quite challenging to manage the Low budget, therefore, we had to use many strategies to achieve the best with less material quantities since it could save the cost directly. One of the strategies was to spend more on Prime Apartment and Little less on Super Apartment to show the best and the average. Further the light color palette has given more spacious feel and most importantly people could afford a modern happy to be residence.
