RE[V[I]V]AL: An Attempt to Rethink of an Ideal Village | Pradyumna Vikharankar

Rural India is known for its self sufficiency, which is observed to be at an edge of declination due to arising dependencies on the urban context. Economy is being confined just to monetary factors making all systems of living transactional. A re-framed policy along with an intervention to administer the rural context can regain the resourceful management & the practice of self sufficiency.

“Svravriti” defines self-reliance, a practice that aims to uplift the village industry & eventually the individuals of the community.
The project aims to break the industrial language of architecture & open the plan with verandahs, terraces & courtyards in order to make it a publicly owned. The sense of ownership with the community plays a vital role to activate the spaces with a number of permutation & combinations. Volumetrically, the facades & courtyards are such scaled that imbibes a sense of security which eventually not just activates the project but also the immediate site adjacencies.
